Civil Engineering Technicians support civil engineers in the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects. They work on the technical aspects of civil engineering, including preparing detailed plans, conducting tests, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Their role is critical in the successful implementation and maintenance of infrastructure projects.
Indicative Skill and Expertise of Civil Engineering Technicians
Most occupations in this unit group require a skill level equivalent to an AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2). Alternatively, at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications. In some cases, additional relevant experience and on-the-job training might be necessary beyond formal education. Registration or licensing may also be required depending on the role.
Tasks and responsibilities involve:
